ADwards 2012 head of jury Steve Henry on how to win ADwards: BE DIFFERENT!
10/02/2012

Steve was Founder and Creative Director of Howell Henry Chaldecott Lury, which won Agency of the Year three times and was then voted Campaign’s Agency of the Decade.
This award was given because of HHCL’s “iconoclastic attitude both to the work and to the way it does business”.
The agency’s most famous work included campaigns for: Tango, Pot Noodle, The Automobile Association, Egg, First Direct, Go, Mazda, Ronseal, Fuji film, Molson lager, Marie Claire magazine, and many others.
In 2006, Steve took over as Executive Creative Director at TBWA/London, where he oversaw multi-platform campaigns for clients like Playstation, Adidas, McDonalds, Apple, Starburst, Skittles and Nissan.
In 2009, he joined Albion, an innovative digital agency, as non-exec Creative Director. In both 2010 and 2011, Albion was shortlisted for Campaign’s Digital Agency of the Year.
In his career, Steve has won most of the major creative awards, including the D&AD Gold Pencil, the Grand Prix at Cannes, the Grand Prix at the British Television Awards, the President’s Award at the Royal Television Society awards, and the President’s Award at Creative Circle (twice).
He has spoken at over 50 major advertising conferences all around the world.
In 2008, he was included in Campaign Magazine’s inaugural Hall of Fame, a collection of the 40 most influential people in British advertising over the last 50 years.
He also writes a popular blog on the Campaign web-site about innovations in marketing.
In 2011, Steve launched Decoded, a company which teaches people “code in a day”.
